Leaky business

It's fair to say that when diesel enters the engine compartment, it can quickly turn into a huge mess. On top of that, a pungent smell will generally also spread throughout the car’s interior – something you don’t want to be exposed to for too long. Often responsible for this is a leaking or defective diesel injector fuel line – also known as a leakage oil line or return line – which carries excess fuel from the injectors back to the tank, thus preventing excessive pressure in the system.

Problems with this part are not always obviously noticeable. Even the smallest leak or a defective pressure retaining valve in the fuel line can cause air to enter the fuel system – which in turn can lead to starting difficulties. Fatigue on the sealing rings, thermal influences that cause the material to become porous, kinks caused by external mechanical influences, chafing from vibrations or even accidental damage during the repair of other components are also frequent sources of trouble.

So, whenever you’re in need of such a line: AIC has great value replacements for 1617 applications in its portfolio.
